The adoption of the resolution “Sexual and gender-based violence: Joint action on prevention and response” (the Resolution) by the 32nd International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (International Conference) in 2015 was an important step in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement’s (the Movement) efforts to address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in armed conflict, disasters and other emergencies. It specified what needed to be done by National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (National Societies), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Secretariat; underlined areas in which they should collaborate; and set out obligations of States
