In 2023, the IFRC Protection, Gender, and Inclusion (PGI) teams worldwide continued to meet the objectives outlined in IFRC’s Strategy 2030 and the IFRC PGI Policy (2022). Committed to ensuring safe programming at the community level, creating secure and inclusive workplaces, implementing strong risk management practices, and embedding gender and diversity analyses, the team showcased impactful achievements, which are briefly detailed below.
These milestones range from global initiatives like the launch of the PGI Organizational Assessment Toolkit, to support by National Societies’ local interventions directly addressing the needs of people at risk of violence, discrimination, and exclusion. This broad range or initiatives underscore the IFRC’s dedication to ensuring positive organizational change and supporting all programme teams to ensure that highquality standards are met, while continuing to mainstream PGI across all work in all sectors worldwide.
