In Gaza, children have been severely impacted by hostilities. This includes death, injury and disability, separation, trauma, loss of school, health conditions, and a loss of routines and play. One of the responses by the Palestinian Red Crescent has been to implement the mobile Child Friendly Space named, the "Dream Bus."

The summer workshops organized by the Wielkopolskie (Poznań) branch of the Polish Red Cross aimed at strengthening and developing creativity as part of the 'Summer with the Polish Red Cross' initiative aimed to provide care for children during their free time from school activities, as well as to create a safe and friendly space conducive to the integration of children from Poland and Ukraine. Special emphasis was placed on building relationships in a different setting other than school environment, which – unfortunately – all too often reinforces existing divisions.

The Tonga Red Cross Ofa Tui Amanaki Centre supports children and young adults with a range of disabilities (physical, intellectual, sensory) by providing a specially designed school environment, daily living skills training, transport and access support, home outreach, recreation/inclusion activities, and for older learners also vocational training. The Ofa Tui Amanaki Centre remains one of the key specialized services for children with disabilities in Tonga.

Case Study: Lesotho Red Cross Protection of Orphans

The Lesotho Red Cross programme for children who are orphaned or in vulnerable situations applies an intersectional community health model that integrates mental health and psychosocial support, stakeholder engagement, livelihood support, and direct linkages to primary healthcare facilities. In this way the programme aims to achieves both clinical outcomes and strong community-level reach. It focuses on educating and empowering communities on climate change and its health impacts; providing in-kind material assistance and supporting economic empowerment; strengthening disaster preparedness and response through improved stock management and community involvement; and enhancing community awareness of HIV prevention, voluntary counselling and testing, and adherence to antiretroviral therapy.

As part of its response to the Ukraine Regional Crisis, the Bulgarian Red Cross delivered a Cash and Voucher Assistance program focusing on multi-purpose cash grant payments, reimbursement grants for medical expenses, targeted support for winter costs, and Cash for Protection grants and education vouchers. This includes prioritizing children and adults with disabilities.
